💧 The water that dared
From drop to sea
Hello friend 👋
It’s easy to forget how vast and connected we are. And how often we choose to stay small and separate.
What can a lone drop of water do, but stay protected from getting wiped away? Like how the fearful ego clings to survival. 😓 Over time it becomes stagnant—a murky swamp no one wants to visit.
What about the drop that dares to move? It risks, it merges. It doesnʻt disappear. It transforms, it becomes more. It belongs to something bigger. Over time it regenerates and feeds more life. 🌊
We yearn to be by the ocean. And its power scares us.
This weekʻs care kit is a little liquid courage:
🎶 One song to flow with
✍️ One poem on surrender and trust
〰️ One move to expand
Pour yourself a tall glass of water to drink. Cheers!
🎶 One Song
Jeux dʻeau (“Play of Water”) by Maurice Ravel
→ played by Martha Argerich
This piece begins with ripples of water dancing with glints of light. Tickles, sparkles, and swirls at play. As it builds, so does the water. Flowing into larger surges, sweeping waves, cascading falls, winding rivers, and maybe even oceans. The music becomes an expansive and refreshing space for you to swim in.
✍️ One Poem
FEAR
It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.
She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.
And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.
But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.
Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because thatʻs where the river will know
itʻs not about disappearing in the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean.
〰️ One Move
✋ Fists canʻt stay closed or hold on when you have the courage to open up and reach out. This is an invitation to return to belonging and wholeness.
Start by lying down on your bed. Bring your body into a small shape. Hug your knees in, round your spine, tuck your chin. Tighten up. Feel what it’s like to protect, to hold in, to stay separate.
Then…slowly begin to open. Let your arms unfold, release your legs, let your chest rise, let the breath expand you. Reach out and stretch up. Move your limbs around like youʻre swimming in bed.
Imagine yourself merging with something wider and deeper than you—like a drop becoming the sea. Not lost, but returned. Not erased, but whole.
Stay here for a few deep breaths. Let your body remember. You belong here. Expansive, connected, and whole.
I call this move, From Drop to Sea.
You have the power to create small ripples and vast waves. Where are you flowing these days? Iʻd love to hear from you.
Have the most present week ever,
🫶 Karen
