🍁 Softness is a bold choice

See you for Soul Care Sunday, Nov 3!

Hello friend 👋

I’m so looking forward to slowing down with you this Sunday.

The moodboard for November’s soul session began with embracing the coziness of scarf season. Which got me daydreaming about the unmistakable energy of Lenny Kravitz’s iconic scarf/blanket — that oversized, unapologetic embrace of confident softness.

As I rehearsed at the piano and sank into this permission to slow down, a surprising creature kept coming to mind: the sloth. Its calm, smiling presence and grounded patience feel like the essence of sacred rest — embracing slowness with intention, allowing life to unfold without rush, and with trust.

Since fall is all about layering, what would it mean to drop what no longer serves you and proudly wear only what feels right for you?

How might you create space to ditch the heavy itchy coat that says, “Slowing down means you’re lazy. You haven’t earned your rest.”

What about draping yourself in a giant scarf that says, “You are soft and bold. Your rest is your renewal.”

And listening to the wise sloth on your shoulders that whispers, “True strength isn’t in pushing, but in choosing where your energy flows.”

We’ll explore this through music, poetry, movement, mindfulness, and creativity on Sunday.

A few gentle reminders before we gather:

Give yourself time
We'll begin at 10:30am, so come a few minutes early to check in, put on a name tag, and get settled. My daughters will be at the door to greet you! We’ll wrap up by 12pm. Here’s a link to the venue: Society Clubhouse.

Dress comfortably
Wear something you can move in. Bring a yoga mat, floor pillow, blanket (like Lenny Kravitz’s scarf) to sit/lie/wrap. Wear cute socks or go barefoot. Pack your personal fan/cooling device if you run hot these days. Chairs are also available if that makes you feel at ease.

Unplug to recharge
Feel free to take photos or videos at the start and end, but during our time, consider turning off your phone or switching it to airplane mode. Let’s fully embrace this break — for ourselves and each other.

Come as you are
This is your space to just be. No agenda, no pressure, no performance. When we show up this way, we make room for others to do the same.

A note on recording
We’ll have someone capturing photos and video for promotional purposes. If you prefer not to be on camera, just let me know when you arrive.

🙏 Thank you for being part of this shared experience.

You’re the balm.
