☃️ Snow Check for Soul Care Sunday

Weather Cancellation Notice for Feb 16

Dear friend 👋

Winter is wintering. Due to the snow dump warning and unpredictable road/parking conditions, I've made the difficult decision to cancel this Sunday's Soul Care session.

As much as we were all looking forward to sharing the romance of slowing down together, I want to prioritize safety and peace of mind. And if you’re feeling bummed about it—I see you. Me too.

Balm is about creating space for acceptance, calm, and rest from stress, no matter the weather, so here's a snow check ❄️:

🌿 Future session: If you already registered, I’m happy to apply it to a future Soul Care Sunday—March 23, April 13, or May 25. Let me know which date works for you! Could you also do me a quick favour and reply to this email to confirm you’ve seen this cancellation notice?

📖 A poem for you: Let me read you a poemThe Patience of Ordinary Things by Pat Schneider. Like the snowfall invites us to pause, this poem reminds us that when we slow down from all the doing, we can find delight in noticing, appreciating, and resting in the insignificant, ordinary details.

🎶 A playlist for you: It’s not the same as breathing the same air as a cello in real life, but this playlist will bring a sense of presence, softness, and beauty into your being. As I put it together, I imagined you cozying up on the couch with a soft blanket, closing your eyes, and giving yourself time to just listen.

Although we won’t be together in person on Sunday from 10:30am to 12pm, I hope you keep that time for yourself—to slow down, savour the quiet, and embrace the romance of the snowfall.

“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt.”
~ Lewis Carroll, Through the Looking-Glass

Thanks for your understanding. Our next Soul Care on March 23 feels so far away and I can’t wait until we gather again.

You’re the balm.
