🍓 Legs up on the wall

When your mind is busy turning a simple thing into a full-on soap opera…
Put your legs up on the wall and try this easy practice instead.
Hereʻs the plan for the next five minutes:
Press play on the song, read the poem out loud (yes, out loud makes a difference), do the move, and finish with a big dramatic sigh.
🎶 One Song
This piece feels like light on water. Like the sweetness of honeysuckle in a garden. Like a whisper of breeze in a heat wave.
Summerland is the second movement of a piano suite called Three Visions, written by William Grant Still in 1935. It imagines the journey of the human soul after death and offers a glimpse of heaven.
To me, itʻs a prayer without the complication of thoughts and words. A sanctuary.
✍️ One Poem
Peace
Peace flows into me
As the tide to the pool by the shore;
It is mine forevermore,
It ebbs not back like the sea.
I am the pool of blue
That worships the vivid sky;
My hopes were heaven-high,
They are all fulfilled in you.
I am the pool of gold
When sunset burns and dies,—
You are my deepening skies,
Give me your stars to hold.
〰️ One Move
😮💨 To cool you down. Box Breathing helps shift your attention away from ruminating thoughts making you all hot and bothered for no good reason.
inhale
slowly breathe in through your nose for a count of four
hold
hold your breath for a count of four
exhale
slowly breathe out through your mouth for a count of four
hold
hold your breath again for a count of four
repeat
continue this cycle 8x
finish
with a loud dramatic sigh
This is your sanctuary. Thanks for taking a moment with me.
Wishing you pause, presence, and peace.
