🤍 Connection isn't something we create

Hi friend đź‘‹
Connection means something different to each of us. For me, it’s the way I feel when I’m truly present—with myself, with others, with the world around me.
In a world of endless easy connections, feeling truly connected isn’t always so easy, is it?
Life is busy. Our attention gets pulled in a million directions. With a smartphone in hand, we could potentially connect with millions, yet sometimes it feels like we’re not connecting at all. We get caught up in what needs to be done, how things should be, and just keeping up—let alone getting ahead.
Hours can slip through our fingers and turn into days, weeks, and months. It’s easy to forget to stop and check in: What am I truly connected to right now?
In those moments, I find it helpful to come back to this simple truth: Connection isn’t something we create—it’s something we notice. Whether it’s a small moment of gratitude, a meaningful conversation, or a shared smile, connection is always there, waiting for us to tune in.
That’s why Soul Care Sunday exists. To carve out time to pause, reflect, and reconnect in ways that feel nourishing and real. To build a habit of noticing. To just be, with.
On December 8 we’ll use music, poetry, movement, mindfulness, and creativity to just to be, with:
Our present self (the here and now)
Our inner child (the innocent, playful, curious part of us)
Our future self (who we’re becoming)
Each other (in the room and beyond)
Something greater than ourselves (nature, universal energy, spirituality)
Who knows what will bubble up, overflow, and trickle into? The mystery is part of the magic and the fun. And I know we need whatever it will be. If you’re curious too, I’d love for you to join us.

PS. Are you selective when it comes to who and how you spend precious Sunday morning? I understand, because I am too. If you’ve never been to a Balm gathering before and wonder who else is in the room, here’s a picture.
